Name written on title page, unsure of any link to the authorship of the book. ; B&W Illustrations, Maps; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 624 pages; This is one of a series of books put out commemorating Canada's centennial. It is a very thorough history of the Swan River Valley area with many brief biographies of families who lived there going back to the time of settlement. At page 400 is a list of men who served in Canada's armed forces, veterans of the first and second world wars. Many photographs throughout. Index at back.

Two B&W plates including frontispiece. ; 12mo 7" - 7" tall; 304 pages; Mr. Trotter with the help of Arthur Hawkes has written an account of the pioneering beginnigs of Brandon, Manitoba. The titular 'Horseman' is Beecham Trotter himself who made his living as a horse trader.
