She died before she could publish her intended history, but this book was finished by her brother and sister 7 years after her death.

Since then many factors affected the infux of peoples, the establishment of Fort Simpson and trading posts in the neighbouring communities, the construction of the Collins Overland Telegraph and the Omineca gold rush. Riverboats on the Skeena River and the Grand Trunk Railway were instrumental in bringing people to the site between Prince Rupert and Hazelton which became Terrace.
